It’s almost time to don your hood and track your targets in Assassin’s Creed Origins for PC, so sharpen your hidden blade and make sure your boots have plenty of grip - you are about to go on a journey into Ancient Egypt and see the birth of the Creed itself. The game launches on October 27, so you will want to be ready and waiting, like some hoodie hiding in a pile of hay.
With that in mind, we’ve put together a little primer for you, so you can decide which version of the game is the best choice for your needs. Do you want to go all-in and be guaranteed to experience the DLC first, or would you rather just get the game and decide later? We have options to suit you. Here are the Assassin’s Creed Origins Editions:
This one does exactly as it says on the tin. Buy the Standard Edition and you get access to the game itself. If you pre-order Assassin’s Creed Origins at Green Man Gaming you will get access to an additional mission called The Secrets of the Pyramids. In it, you will unearth one of Egypt’s greatest mysteries, uncovering the knowledge of the construction of the first pyramids.
As well as giving you access to the game itself, the Deluxe Edition of Assassin’s Creed Origins gets you a bunch of optional content to play with. Here’s exactly what extra is included:
- The Ambush at Sea mission
- The Desert Cobra pack (Including 1 outfit, 2 legendary weapons, 1 legendary shield, and 1 mount)
- 3 Ability points
If you pre-order this edition you will also get access to The Secrets of the Pyramids mission.
This one gives you access to everything you get in the Deluxe and Standard Editions, along with the Season Pass. Here’s what is included in that:
The Hidden Ones (DLC 1)
- This expansion takes place years after the events of Assassin’s Creed Origins in a new region occupied by a Roman force. Bayek and the new Assassins will clash with the Romans as the Brotherhood continues to grow, and players will have a new level cap. Slated for release in January 2018.
The Curse of the Pharaohs (DLC 2)
- The second expansion focuses on Egyptian mythology, pitting players against undead pharaohs and famed Egyptian monsters. Bayek will need to explore a mystical new realm and discover the root of the curse that has brought these creatures to life. This expansion will also raise the level cap again and introduce new skills for Bayek. Scheduled for a March 2018 launch.
The Roman Centurion and Horus packs
- These exclusive item packs will grant Season Pass holders a new outfit, weapons, shield, and mount when they become available in November of this year.
500 Helix Credits and an exclusive rare weapon, the Calamity Blade – Both available at launch.
