No matter how small an airport, large numbers of people pass through it every day. We get annoyed by security measures every time we fly, but how does it look from the other side?
Airport Contraband gives you the opportunity to see the business end from the point of view of security personal by assume different roles and try keep your hands at keeping the airport safe, look for contraband, spot suspicious passengers, perform checks or inspect entire aircrafts.
THE ORDINARY
The airport in question is a smaller one located in Columbia.
A lot of the things you will have to handle there are like on any other airport around the world. Planes are arriving and departing, there is little time to relax and the somewhat laxer regulations in this part of the world make contraband a serious challenge.
Passengers, luggage, cargo and on occasion even the aircraft itself hold surprises you might not expect.
Due to the size of the airport you will face a large amount of different tasks.
Your boss thinks of you as a one man band and will deploy you accordingly to handle every step of security and customs.
As you progress in the game your position becomes more important and you might even become the boss and make all the decisions.
This however does not happen by just being good at your job. This is Columbia, and there is so much more to advancement than just doing a great job…
THE EXTRAORDINARY
Forged documents, counterfeit IDs or tempered manifests are just some of the things you will encounter that do not happen on large airports in North America or Europe. DIY style modifications to aircraft in order to hide contraband is another thing that falls into the extraordinary category.
What is considered contraband itself changes frequently as authorities often apparently can’t make up their mind what is allowed to enter the country. On top of that, this being Columbia, drugs pose a whole different set of problems…
THE DANGEROUS
Drugs are big money and everybody knows it. That staggering amount of money raises the stakes and can make your job really dangerous. It’s not only the occasional passenger or pilot who tries to smuggle drugs by going to great lengths to succeed, it’s also the cartels and those play in a whole different league.
They will try to exert pressure on you, make you incredible offers and try to force your hand. As so often in life, only few things are black or white. You will be put in situations where doing a small favor for a cartel might help a lot of people.
There will be many moral choices to be made or you can even decide to side with the cartels and do their bidding. In that case you will need to cover your tracks as the authorities are watching.
Airport Contraband is not your typical simulator game. It’s detailed, exciting and goes to great lengths to provide a level of immersion seldom seen in these types of games..
