Developed by Avalanche Studios, creators of the Just Cause series, Mad Max, theHunter: Call of the Wild, and co-developers of RAGE 2; this game marks the first game to be self-published by Avalanche Publishing. 

Key Information

Generation Zero is a first person action survival game set in 1980s Sweden. After an invasion by killer machines, it’s up to you to survive, defeat your enemies, and find out where the machines have come from and why they’re here.

One of the key features of the game is the ability to share the action with up to three friends in seamless co-op. With survival being a key part of the experience, having three more guns at your side is always a welcome move. 

Either with co-op partners or alone, in this FPS open world action survival game you’ll plan your strategy, take down your enemies, loot the world, strive for survival, and investigate the secrets of the apocalypse.

Release Date

Generation Zero was first unveiled shortly prior to E3 2018, and was released on XBOX One, PlayStation 4, and PC on the 26th of March, 2019.

Updates and DLC

Since launch the game has seen several updates, including community events. The first of these, Hunters Become the Hunters, saw players race to kill 150,000 machines in a short period of time. 

Successful completion of this community event has seen Avalanche Studios release a piece of free DLC, the Tubular Vanity Pack which added new outfits to the game. Now you can make sure your character is ready for a Swedish spring with a variety of 1980s inspired outfits.

In addition, new features such as a photo mode and a revamp of the skill screen have been released via monthly updates from Avalanche Studios.
