A new game in the franchise, Mass Effect: Andromeda starts afresh with its characters, a part of the game that Mass Effect has always gotten so right.
The Mass Effect series has always created amazing relationships between the characters, with its interactive dialogue options and decision-based gameplay. The Mass Effect: Andromeda story has now taken on a younger cast, which will add to playfulness of the game. As well as the main characters Sara and Scott Ryder, BioWare have introduced two new squad mates to help them on their way.
Liam
Part of the Pathfinder team, Liam is a former police officer who arrives on the Andromeda via the Hyperion. Creative Director Mac Walters said that “Liam is the youthful, enthusiastic, and in some cases, the idealistic follower that you get. While he takes his duties seriously, he tends to have a lighter tone. He may try to add levity to situations by being upbeat, he also wears his heart on his sleeve and gets fired up easily.”
Peebee
Peebee is part of the Asari race, one of the returning alien races from the previous Mass Effect games. Unlike your previous Asari team mate Liara, Peebee has been described as “not about rules or culture or anything like that. She’s very bubbly, Liara was very serious.” Walters went on to describe the newest squad mate as “It’s hard keeping up with her. In fact when she meets you, she just goes up and tackles Ryder.”
